Tab for a Cause might be unable to store login information in your browser. This can happen because the browser or another extension is interfering with the new tab page.
First, let's try clearing cookies. Sometimes, all you need is a fresh start!
Chrome
1. Go to chrome://settings/content/cookies
2. Click "See all cookies and site data"
3. In the search box, enter "tab.gladly.io", then click "Remove All Shown"
4. Click "Save Changes"
Firefox
1. Enter about:preferences#privacy in the URL bar
2. Under "Cookies and Site Data", click the "Manage Data..." button
3. In the search box, enter "tab.gladly.io", then click "Remove All Shown"
4. Click "Save Changes"
Then, open a tab, log in, and see if you stay logged in. If that doesn't work...
Let's check other extensions. Please disable all other extensions, even ones that seem like they shouldn’t be a problem, because sometimes extensions have unexpected side-effects.
Chrome
1. Go to chrome://extensions/
2. Disable every extension except Tab for a Cause (uncheck the “Enabled” boxes)
3. Open a tab to see if things are working. If it’s fixed, enable other extensions one at a time to determine which one is causing the problem.
Firefox
1. Enter about:addons in the URL bar
2. Disable every add-on except Tab for a Cause
3. Open a tab to see if things are working. If it’s fixed, enable other extensions one at a time to determine which one is causing the problem.
If that also doesn't work...
Let's make sure your browser is allowing cookies.
In your browser settings, make sure "tab.gladly.io" (the website of the new tab page) is allowed to set cookies.
This is most often a problem in Firefox. Open settings, click "Privacy and Security". Under "Cookies and Site Data", select "Manage Permissions." Add "tab.gladly.io" and select "Allow".
If this doesn't help...
Test out another browser with default settings.
If possible, please try downloading another browser without any customizations. For example, if you normally use Chrome, try downloading Safari, add Tab for a Cause, and see if the problem is fixed.
If this solves your problem, we know your main browser has some setting or customization that's breaking sign-in. You might consider reverting your browser to default settings or uninstalling and reinstalling the browser.
If none of this works, please get in touch and we'll help troubleshoot! When you reach out, please let us know you've already tried the above.
